The 2026 WEWS Programme has been published. The first WEWS will be hosted by the Collie Group on 21 February 2026.. The Competition Item is a Spherical Lidded Box that sits on a Stand. The box may be fixed to thestand or sit freely on it. Minimum sphere diameter is 60mm. A finial orknob is optional. The stand may be turned or constructed without using thelathe, but no other embellishment is permitted. Judgeswill consider thespherical shape of the box and the consistency of the wall thickness.
Club Events:
End Of Year Function to be held 3 December 2025 at the Mandurah Country and Golf Club $40.00 pp
Club Deep Clean - All hands are called for our annual deep clean - Dust Filters, Overheads, Timber Racks, Floors, Benches, Kitchen all require a clean.
End of Year Closure: The Club will close for the Year from 21:00 (9:00pm) Thursday 18 December 2025 through to 09:00 (9:00am) 6 January 2026. The workshop may be opened by request during this time. Please Contact a Key holder if required. Reminder two Persons must be in the club when open.
Novice Courses
Novice Course 2025 has completed. Some fine work produced. The Optional Pen Making Tutorial was well prescribed with each Novice producing a great moment of their first steps into woodturning
Next Course will be held in March 2026. If you are intersted please contact the Club .
The 2026 Club Competition Programme will be advised following the next MWG Committee Meeting in December. Volunteers are sought to demonstrate the items.

Want to enhance your expertise and take your items to the next level?
The Mandurah Woodturners are introducing workshops i to enhance skills in embellishment.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to add to your woodturned item beit a Bowl or a Platter a Vase or a Box. Embellishing your item can provide the “Wow” factor!

Alternately you can join the Embellishers Sub Group which convenes at the Wandi Community Hall every Thursday morning
